Business consulting for owners who'd rather fix things than faff about

We work with Scottish SMEs that have outgrown their early setup but haven't yet built the systems to match. You know the feeling: revenue is up, but profit isn't keeping pace, and you're still the bottleneck for every decision.

How an engagement actually works

No 80-page strategy decks. No six-month discovery phase. We move quickly because you're paying us to solve problems, not to admire them.

1

Diagnostic call

A 30-minute conversation where you talk and we listen. We want to know where the pain is: cash flow gaps, hiring misfires, pricing that hasn't been reviewed in years, or something else entirely. This call is free, and there's no obligation after it.

2

Two-week deep look

We spend roughly ten working days inside your numbers, your team structure, and your customer pipeline. We interview up to five of your staff (with your permission) because the owner's view and the floor-level view rarely match. At the end you get a short written report with three to five specific actions ranked by impact and effort.

3

Implementation sprints

Each action becomes a four-week sprint. We don't just advise; we sit beside your team and help them build the new process, spreadsheet, hiring checklist, or pricing model. You see progress every Friday in a 15-minute check-in.

4

Quarterly reviews

Once the sprints are done, we step back. But we stay available for a quarterly half-day review where we compare your numbers against the baseline we set at the start. Most clients keep this arrangement for at least a year.

What we actually help with

Cash flow and financial clarity

We build a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast tailored to your billing cycles. For businesses with lumpy revenue (project-based firms, seasonal retailers), this alone can prevent the panic of a thin month. We also review your payment terms, chase processes, and supplier contracts to find money that's sitting on the table.

Hiring and team structure

Most firms under 30 employees hire reactively: someone leaves, so you post the same job ad. We help you map the roles you actually need for the next 18 months, write honest job descriptions, and set up a simple scoring system so interviews produce decisions instead of gut feelings.

Pricing reviews

When did you last raise your prices? If the answer involves the word "years," we should talk. We analyse your cost base, compare your rates against what the market will bear, and model the revenue impact of a 5%, 10%, or 15% increase. Many clients discover they can raise prices with minimal customer loss.

Operational process design

If your business depends on one person remembering how things are done, that's a risk. We document your core processes into simple, testable checklists that a new hire can follow from day one. Think onboarding, order fulfilment, quality checks, and complaint handling.

Owner exit and succession planning

Thinking about stepping back in three to five years? The value of your business depends on whether it can run without you. We help you build that independence gradually, so when the time comes, a buyer or successor inherits a real business, not a job dressed up as one.

Why Glasgow, and why us

We're based in the city centre, a short walk from Central Station. Our clients range from food and drink producers in the Clyde Valley to tech firms in Finnieston and construction outfits across Lanarkshire. The common thread is size: typically between five and fifty employees, turning over £500k to £10m.

Glasgow's business landscape rewards practicality. Owners here don't want buzzwords. They want someone who understands VAT returns, HMRC deadlines, the reality of hiring in a tight labour market, and the specific pressures of running a limited company in Scotland. That's the world we work in every day.

Our founding consultant spent twelve years in operational management at two Scottish mid-market firms before starting this practice. The rest of the team brings backgrounds in accountancy, HR, and supply chain management. Nobody on our team has only ever been a consultant.

Questions we hear often

Nothing. It's a genuine 30-minute conversation to see whether we're a good fit. We'll ask about your business, your frustrations, and your goals. If we think we can help, we'll outline what an engagement would look like and what it would cost. If we can't help, we'll say so and, where possible, point you to someone who can.
The two-week diagnostic is a fixed fee of £2,400 plus VAT. Implementation sprints are priced per sprint at £1,800 plus VAT each. Quarterly reviews run at £600 per session. We invoice at the start of each phase, so there are no surprise bills at the end.
Yes. We have clients in Edinburgh, Stirling, and as far north as Perth. The diagnostic and reviews can happen over video. For implementation sprints, we prefer at least one in-person day per sprint, so we ask that your office be within reasonable travel distance of Glasgow.
Absolutely, and we encourage it. Your accountant handles compliance and tax. We focus on the forward-looking side: where is money being wasted, where should you invest, and how do you structure the business so the numbers improve quarter on quarter. We're happy to share our reports with your accountant directly.
That's fine. Some clients come to us for a single pricing review or a hiring process overhaul. We'll scope the work during the diagnostic call and give you a fixed price for that piece alone. There's no pressure to sign up for a longer programme.
